Trump administration reportedly forbids DoE from using ‘climate phrases’

The Trump administration has reportedly instructed staff in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of International Climate & Clean Energy not to use the phrases like “climate change” and “emissions reductions” in briefings or any written communication.

President Trump has long been a skeptic of global warming and climate change; and his administration is now trying to remove climate change from the language of the government agencies.

Department employees have been told that the phrases have been forbidden because they could ignite a “visceral reaction” from U.S. Energy Secretary Rick Perry, a White House adviser to the department.

When Sec. Perry was the governor of Texas, he had argued, “We have been experiencing a cooling trend. There are a substantial number of scientists who have manipulated data so they will have dollars rolling into their projects.”

However, a spokesperson for the Department of Energy has denied any such directive from the White House, claiming no words or phrases have been banned.
